Accessing the Practice Tests

GMetrix is the software that provides the MOS practice tests.

To take a practice testing using the GMetrix software, visit one of the following Pierce County Library locations. At these locations you can check out a laptop with the GMetrix software and Microsoft Office 2016 already installed.

Laptops subject to availability. Laptops are not available on Sundays.

Laptops must be used in the library. They cannot leave the building.

Setting up a GMetrix Account

  • Check Out a Laptop

    Visit the help desk at one of the specified libraries, and ask to check out a laptop.

  • Create an Account

    Login to the laptop and open GMetrix, by clicking on the desktop icon shown below:

    Select “Sign up here!” and fill out the form to create an account.

    Don’t forget to write down your username and password!

  • Redeem Your Access Code

    Login to GMetrix with your new account.

    Click ‘Redeem a Code’ to input the access code included in your learning plan email.

    Make sure the access code is entered exactly as it appears in your email.

  • Starting a Practice Test

    Click ‘Start a New Test.’

    Choose the product you would like to practice.

    There are multiple versions of each test available. Try as many as you like.

    Select “training” or “testing” mode.

    • Testing mode is timed, training mode is not timed.

    The test will then launch.

  • Troubleshooting

    Library staff are not able to assist you with GMetrix, or answer questions while you are taking a test.
