These events are designed to help job seekers upgrade skills, practice interviewing or résumé writing, and connect with employers. They are being provided free of cost by community partners unless otherwise specified, will typically require an advance registration, and may be offered on a variety of different platforms like Zoom, Skype, or Teams, which may require that you have access to that app on your device. Hiring events often ask that you submit a résumé before the date of the event in order to be considered for a same day interview. Events marked with an asterisk (*) are being held in-person. Strategies For Success (Module 3) | Monday, December 6th – Thursday, December 9th

Module 3: Communication – Communication is a skill that never stops growing! Come learn how to improve your skills and odds of landing that next job!

    • Learn about interpersonal and business communication and discover your own style
    • Develop better listening, writing, computer and presentation skills
    • Find out about verbal & non-verbal cues, practice conflict resolution and get tips on emotional control

Exploring Pierce County Colleges | Friday, December 10th | 1:30pm-2:30pm | FREE

Explore education and training programs available through the Pierce County Community and Technical Colleges including: Certificate, Associate Degrees, Applied Bachelor Degrees, GED/HS21, Apprenticeship/pre-apprenticeship, and Continuing Education. College representatives will explain available funding options and other general college information to help you get started today.

    • Get hold of your finances by forming good spending habits, getting rid of bad behaviors and become financially literate

What important information should you have to be a successful candidate? A representative from City of Tacoma’s Human Resources department has the information you need. In addition to the City Jobs resources, the session offers a workshop on workplace diversity.
